Hotel Accommodations at the Trump Casinos - Read Up on Donald Trump's Empire Before You Go
Perhaps you have watched the "Apprentice" Reality TV series and enjoyed the commentary? But then something about it struck you funny, perhaps even bothered you a bit. Well, you are not alone, still, before you go and condemn Donald Trump's management style or a TV PR program to build his brand, I would ask you to hold your judgment and perhaps read a few Donald trump books. So, may I be so bold as to recommend the following books to you?
"Trump: The Art of the Deal" by Donald J. Trump and Tony Schwartz 1987.
Think Big, Play it loose and Play to Win, says Donald Trump. The book discusses Donald Trump's deal making schedule, a week in the life, although a fictitious week with six months of the biggest deals packed into one along with the normal deals along the way of a single week, it gives the reader and interesting look into the deal making life of Donald Trump. In the book he discusses his life in Cincinnati, move to Manhattan, the Grand Hotel, Trump Towers and Atlantic City.
"Trump: Surviving at the Top" by Donald J. Trump and Charles Leerhsen 1990.
Donald Trump explains the high stakes of deal making, profit taking, banking and survival in the game. The book talks about his famous divorce, a deal with Merv Griffin, and the incredible build up of Atlantic City; this is a great read, really gives heavy insight into the Donald Trump Empire and how it ran nearly two-decades ago, before it became a heavy corporate environment. Entrepreneurship at its best.
"Trumped: The Inside Story of the Real Donald Trump - His Cunning Rise & Spectacular Fall" by John R. O'Donnell (the former President of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino). 1991.
John O' Donnell rips into Donald Trump's deal making endeavors and paints a far different picture claiming that Donald Trump favored PR over the bottom line and money making. Still, one cannot debate that his style and flair built one of the strongest brands ever, which in itself is worth an unbelievable amount. Of course, this blue sky side of the balance sheet appears not to be understood by John O' Donnell, except when he wanted to vindicate himself, he attacked it most likely because he finally did understand it?
After you read these books, then perhaps you may wish to render your final judgment on Donald Trump, his management style, his brand building and his real estate and Business Empire. If you are going to stay in one of Donald Trump's hotels or casinos, then check it out sometime. Think on this.
